Let you hire them.
We understand that weddings are expensive occasions so we will do all of this much cheaper than it would cost for fresh flowers and then help you save even more by letting you hire them.
Hiring from Silk Flower Creations
Until now, hiring flowers isn't something that has been available to couples getting married. There are many advantages of hiring your wedding flowers, the main one being the cost. We have been asked lots of questions about this and here are some of the most common ones. If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
How much notice is needed?
We can currently manage about 8 weddings per month and clients are handled on a first come first served basis, so the more time that you can give us the better. On average 2 months notice would be appreciated even though our current turn around time is approximately 1 month. The added time allows for any unforeseen hiccups.
ALL hired flowers MUST be returned to us within 3 weeks after the date of the event (unless prior arrangements have been made with us) or you may lose your security deposit.
What if I don't like them?
We cannot guarantee that you won't like the flowers once they arrive, however so far we have a 100% satisfaction rate. Once you place your order we send a detailed confirmation reply and outline anything that we might need to have clarified. We can also communicate with you during the making process and email you snap shots during this stage so that if at any time before they are finished and sent to you, you have the opportunity to somewhat change or modify them.
Is there a cancellation policy?
YES Before you cancel an order we would appreciate some feedback as to the reasons why, this enables us to help work through any concerns that you might have.
*If you cancel your order after it has been confirmed and the initial deposit has been made, you will lose your deposit.
*If you cancel your order once the bouquets are started and before final payment has been made, no refund will be issued.
*If you cancel your order after the bouquets are made and after final payment has been made, no refund will be issued and you may be required to pay a cancellation fee of 40% of the order total less the deposit.
*Every order is different therefore the refund will be discussed with you as it is calculated on an individual basis.
What’s the postage policy?
Regardless of whether you are buying or hiring from us, we use Australia Post for all deliveries. Postage prices are set depending on your postcode area for each state. A handling fee is charged per order regardless of how many boxes you might require. If hiring, the prices are for round trip postage, therefore after the wedding/occasion, you simply re-pack the flowers into the box that they arrived in and fill in the "COD" form supplied. You then take them to the post office to post. We pay for collection of them at our end. Should you require any further information regarding this, please contact us. Customers located near the Frankston area, are more than welcome to collect their flowers and if hiring, can hand deliver them back to us.
How do the flowers arrive?
All of the flowers arrive in a plain brown box. When you open the box, you will see a checklist to help you when unpacking and repacking them. Then once you open the tissue paper you will find your wedding flowers. The flowers are all individually labelled to make the process easier for you. Separate instructions are included to give to the ladies with their corsages and the same for the groom/groomsmen with their buttonholes outlining how to and where to wear them. All corsages and buttonholes are supplied with either pearl-headed pins or have brooch clips attached.
What is the payment policy?
To ensure that the flowers selected to hire are reserved for your specified date, we require a 20% deposit. This is non-refundable. The balance is to be paid 3 days before the event date if paying by direct debit, or 2 weeks if paying by personal cheque, otherwise cash or money order is accepted at time of pick up. The same applies when buying your flowers from us. For more information on this matter, please read our terms and conditions.
Is there a security deposit?
YES In addition to the rental charge, a REFUNDABLE security deposit of 50% of the total order is required; this is to be paid at the time of final payment. This will be refunded in full to you once the goods are safely returned to us in good condition. Should any of the items be missing or returned to us damaged, a portion of the security deposit will be deducted to compensate for this. If this were the case, we would discuss the matter with you prior to the deduction being made.
Why Silk Flowers & Not Fresh?
We primarily only use silk flowers that look realistic - and often they look even better
They are often up to 40% cheaper than fresh - sometimes even more
They are much lighter to carry
They will certainly last the demands of a “Hot” wedding day. In Australia fresh flowers wilt easily in temperatures over 26 degrees which could mean that from the ceremony through to the reception some fresh flowers won’t last - silk one’s will
For many reasons, nowadays lots of couples choose to go overseas for an intimate wedding and combined honeymoon. Our bouquets of silk flowers are acceptable through customs - whereas fresh ones are not! (please inform us at the time of ordering if the bouquet will be used overseas so that we don’t add preserved filling or fern into it).
Having silk flowers means that you are not restricted with flower selection due to the season - every flower is always available all year round
Colour selection is easier too - Having an unusual colour scheme such as blue, is easy to match with silk flowers whereas with fresh, you would probably end up settling with purple looking flowers.
More and more people in Australia are Asthmatics and/or suffer from allergies - I’m one of them. Having puffy, swollen eyes, a red blotchy face and sneezing non-stop isn’t my idea of a good day out. Having silk flowers will alleviate that problem immediately for not only you the bride, but also for the groom, your attendants and guests.
And last but not least, you will have the wonderful opportunity of seeing them (to a certain degree) before you even receive them as we will e-mail you progress photos as the bouquets are being made. If you select to buy your bouquet you will also have it forever as an everlasting memento of your special day.
In a nutshell - how it is all done!
Well, after your selections are made and finalised and the initial payment has been made, your bouquet is made ESPECIALLY FOR YOU. Progressive photo's can be e-mailed to you so that you can sneak-a-peak before they arrive. Then once they are all made, final payment is made by you. This includes payment for registered post. Next your flowers are carefully packed and sent to you at least 2 weeks before your wedding or special occasion date.
When they arrive and BEFORE you unwrap them, you will see the checklist, detailed "how to" instructions for the groom and groomsmen regarding their buttonholes and also for the ladies who are wearing corsages, (THIS IS VERY HELPFUL - ESPECIALLY FOR THE MEN)! as well as instructions for you to use when sending the flowers back to us.
Now the flowers, each item is clearly labeled and carefully packed for added protection during transit. They are easy to work with should you have to maneuver any of them back into place.
EXTRA - Also included in the box are my details - IF IN DOUBT - USE THEM. I can usually be contacted however, if you need to leave a message please do and I WILL get back to you - so don't panic.
If hiring, after the wedding/occasion, the flowers are to be re-packed into the box that they arrived in, and posted back to us using the return label supplied or they can be hand delivered back to us if local. Once we receive them and check that they are all there and undamaged, a cheque for the security deposit is sent out to you.
